Why use Dev Containers?

Dev containers provide a consistent and reproducible development environment, making it easier to manage dependencies and configurations.

By using VSCode Dev Containers, you can quickly set up a development environment that matches the project’s requirements, ensuring that all team members are working in the same setup.

This approach minimizes the “it works on my machine” problem and streamlines the onboarding process for new developers. Which is a pain in the neck for most teams even in big groups. 🙃

Svelte

Everything you need to build a Svelte project, powered by create-svelte.

Here are the main steps :

1. Creating a project

   If you’re seeing this, you’ve probably already done this step. Congrats!

   npm

   Terminal

   # create a new project in the current directory
   npm create svelte@latest

   yarn

   Terminal

   # create a new project in the current directory
   yarn create svelte@latest

   pnpm

   Terminal

   # create a new project in the current directory
   pnpm create svelte@latest

2. Developing

   Once you’ve created a project and installed dependencies with npm install (or pnpm install or yarn), start a development server:

   npm

   npm run dev

   yarn

   Terminal

   yarn run dev

   pnpm

   pnpm run dev

3. Building

   To create a production version of your app:

   npm

   Terminal

   npm run build

   yarn

   yarn run build

   pnpm

   pnpm run build

   # You can preview the production build with `npm run preview`
   npm run preview

   yarn

   Terminal

   To deploy your app, you may need to install an adapter for your target environment.
